Gary Player Design

Make its mark in Tubac, Arizona

Gary Player was recently hired to design his first course in Arizona: an 18-hole Signature golf course in the Village of Tubac, located in the Santa Cruz River Valley 35 minutes south of Tucson.

The course will be the centerpiece of Tubac de la Montana, an 1,100 acre master planned community being created by Tubac DLM, LLC. The community will feature a variety of up-scale homes targeting the second home and retirement markets, as well as primary residences. Located adjacent to Tubac Golf Resort, where the movie Tin Cup was filmed, the new Gary Player-designed course will focus on preserving the majesty of the rolling high Sonoran desert terrain, and surrounding panoramic mountain views.

Player's design team is currently routing the course, which lies amid sections of the 1.8 million acre Coronado National Forest. Construction of the course is scheduled to begin next year.

The quaint Village of Tubac, often referred to as a "mini Santa Fe", is noted for its centuries-old history of artistic endeavors, and modern day cultural attractions.
